my first blog!

So I've been dabbling with the idea of having a blog for months. The problem I tend to run into with technological things like this is that I spend more time using them as a procrastination tool than anything else. I opposed getting a facebook forever, finally gave in, and now it is my all time favorite time-waster. So my plan all along has been to wait to jump into this blog business until I have a baby someday. Cause everyone likes to look at a blog with a baby in it, right? I'm still trying to think of anything I could post on here that anyone would care to look at besides my mom. Anyways, my lovely friend Cynthia Meeks made this super fun little banner and cute-sied up a blog for me just in case I wanted to start...and as it is, I am officially a blogger. Pre-baby. So much for my plan! Thanks Cynthia! But seriously, didn't she do an amazing job? (She also does invitations of all kinds if you have an event coming up!)

Since I am a newbie at all this, I'm not really sure where to start...but telling a little bit about my life seems like an appropriately cliche' blog place to start so here goes:

grew up in Amarillo with a wonderful family

went to Texas Tech and had so much fun
with some incredible friends (2004-2008)

became a 4th grade teacher
(August 2008)

became a wife to the most wonderful
person I know (September 2008)

bought our first house (March 2009)

had an amazing summer at
Hidden Falls Ranch (June-Aug.
2009)

and now I can't believe I am about to start my 2nd year of teaching in 2 days and my 2nd year of being a wife in 15 days...
Looking back makes me so thankful for my blessings and so excited for what the Lord has ahead!

  1. Yeah! I LOVE your blog and am so happy that you are starting it now and not waiting for a baby! But now it is going to make me miss you guys even more because I am going to see what you are doing every day and it will not include hanging out in my living room planning Katie's wedding on your breaks from cooking! Do you like the new look I did on my blog? I think it turned out pretty cute. Well you up for dinner in Plainview here in a couple weeks? Cause I sure am!
